What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a method of pain relief and disease treatment, which has been practiced effectively for over three thousand years. Licensed practitioners insert extremely fine hair-like needles at points along the body’s energy channels (called meridian), to naturally balance the body and provide instantaneous and long-lasting pain relief and treatment. Acupuncture triggers signals in the nervous system and redefines pain messages to the brain while increasing the brain’s production of endorphins – the body’s natural painkiller. Western medicine has embraced acupuncture as a safe, reliable and effective treatment for chronic pain and disease.

About Our Services
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to promote healing and relieve pain, nausea, and other symptoms. It operates on the principle that a life-giving energy called qi flows through the body along pathways called meridians; acupuncture aims to restore the balanced flow of this energy. While the traditional concept centers on qi, modern research suggests acupuncture may work by stimulating the nervous system to release pain-killing chemicals like endorphins and affect blood flow.

Cupping Therapy
Cupping creates suction on the skin, causing local blood vessels to expand and increasing blood flow, which delivers oxygen and nutrients to tissues, clears waste, and promotes healing. This process can also mobilize fascia, the connective tissue between muscles, reducing muscle tension, improving flexibility, and enhancing lymphatic fluid movement. While cupping is used for conditions like minor aches, back pain, and sports recovery, high-quality research supporting its effectiveness is limited, though proponents report reduced pain, increased range of motion, and faster healing.

Acupuncture Points
Acupuncture points, also known as acupoints, are specific locations on the body believed to be sensitive to stimulation and used in acupuncture, a traditional Chinese medicine practice. These points are thought to be where qi, or vital energy, flows through the body along meridians, and stimulating them can help regulate qi flow and promote healing. While the concept of meridians and qi is not scientifically recognized, acupuncture points are associated with stimulating nerves, muscles, and connective tissue, potentially triggering the body's natural healing response.
Herbology
Herbology is the study of plants, their growth, and their uses, particularly their medicinal properties and applications in traditional medicine, folk practices, and herbal products. It involves understanding plant-derived phytochemicals and their pharmaceutical properties, with applications ranging from science and medicine to even the fictional realm of magic.
Tui Na
Tui na is a therapeutic form of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) that uses manipulative techniques like pressing, rolling, and kneading to address musculoskeletal problems and promote the balanced flow of vital energy (Qi) throughout the body. Derived from the words for "push" and "grasp," tui na aims to unblock energy pathways (meridians) and treat conditions ranging from chronic pain and fatigue to digestive disorders. It can be performed on partially clothed individuals and often complements other TCM practices like acupuncture and cupping.
Auricular Therapy
Auricular therapy (AT), or auriculotherapy, is a practice of stimulating specific points on the external ear to treat conditions in other parts of the body. Stimulations can include acupuncture needles, acupressure, laser, or electrical stimulation. It is based on the concept that the ear is a microsystem representing the entire body, and it has been used to manage various health issues, such as chronic pain, anxiety, migraines, insomnia, and side effects of cancer treatment.
Nutrition & Weight Loss
Acupuncture can complement nutritional and weight loss efforts by improving metabolism, regulating hunger and cravings, managing stress, and enhancing digestion, though it is not a standalone "magic bullet". The most effective weight loss plans integrate acupuncture with a balanced diet, regular exercise, and lifestyle changes. Research suggests acupuncture may help reduce body weight and BMI by influencing the body's hormonal and metabolic processes, but results vary by individual body's response.

Women's Health Care
Acupuncture is an integrative approach used in women's health to address a wide range of issues, including fertility, pregnancy, menopause symptoms, and menstrual health, by promoting natural healing and restoring hormonal balance through the stimulation of specific points on the body. It works by releasing nervous system chemicals, improving blood circulation, and modulating immune and stress responses to relieve symptoms like pain, hot flashes, and mood swings, and can be used alongside conventional fertility treatments like IVF.
Electro Stimulation
Acupuncture with electrical stimulation, or electroacupuncture, involves inserting needles into specific acupuncture points and then connecting them to a device that delivers gentle electrical currents between the needles. This technique is a form of Percutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (PENS), enhancing traditional acupuncture's therapeutic effects to help with pain relief, improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and promote muscle recovery. A small machine is used, and the current's type, frequency, and amplitude are adjusted based on the condition being treated.
